HOW DO YOU WAHOO?

ELEMNT BOLT

The ELEMNT BOLT is intuitively easy to set up, and robust, and has brilliant functionality. And the battery life is awesome! Wahoo has really nailed the design by innovating on a product that most other brands just left basically the same.

KICKR POWER TRAINER

The KICKR is fantastic because it holds me to the power I need to hit for each interval of a training session: there's no option but to stick to the plan. That's mentally easier but with the same physical training effect as an old-fashioned trainer.

The Facts about Emma Pooley

Q: What makes you a Wahooligan?

I love my ELEMNT BOLT and can't ride without it. Some days I love the KICKR, sometimes I hate it: it's my toughest training taskmaster.

Q: What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?

The invention of "pocket porridge". It will revolutionise both training fuel and breakfast: portable porridge in delicious cake form! The birchermuesli muffin is my personal favourite.

Q: Do you have any race day rituals?

Coffee and tea for breakfast. And coffee after the race if I have to provide an antidoping sample!

Q: What are three training tip you would recommend to athletes?

1. Make training fun.
2. Train with other people sometimes - if they're faster than you, that's a bonus.
3. Coffee stops.

Q: What inspires and what motivates you to keep pushing and striving for personal greatness?

I just want to be the best I can, and I genuinely enjoy the hard training. I don't seem to be able to judge very well when I will "peak" in the season - so whenever a race goes well, it makes me happy :-)
