Specs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wahoo Snap My husband struggled setting it up with the Virtual Training EDU so that 2 people could both train while only paying for 1 subscription to the app. Not being tech savvy this was a test of patience but now that it is working we both absolutely love it. I've done only training rides but my hubby has done a few virtual tour rides. Highly recommend the Wahoo. We have found using IOS is MUCH easier that an Android. WE have a friend who has worked at Best Buy for years who is still having trouble getting it to work with certain apps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect connectivity!!! Connected with my Kickr Snap, Tickr X, and all bike sensors first time. Literally plug and play!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works flawlessly Awesome device - no instructions needed. Enables all the features of my Garmin pick ups and HRM on the Ipad

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly Combining the wahoo key with the lighting converter simply allows me to run ant+ through my iPhone and iPad. This makes the mobile version of Trainerroad work perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You don't need to be in IT to figure this out This product works flawlessly and is so easy to set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! I bought this for use on my iPad Mini so I could use a Virtual Trainer app with my bike. It works as advertised and happy I made the purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works every time! I bought the Wahoo Key to display power, cadence & heart rate on an iPad, and for diagnosing & updating a power meter on my bicycle. It works seamlessly with the iPad and iPhone every time. Great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wahoo ANT+ Key To use the TrainerRoad app on my iPhone XR with Otterbox, the Wahoo ANT+ Key did very well when it connects to the Garmin speed and cadence sensors. Still, I had to purchase two other items--1) an Apple 30-pin lightning adapter connected well with the Key; 2) b/c of the Otterbox I had to buy a small adapter extension (Niubee) to connect the 30-pin adapter to the phone. Excellent when it connects!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job The product does the job but I wish they had a lightning port version. Having to buy this and an adapter makes for a less than elegant solution to the problem of getting ANT+ devices to work with iPhone

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Works as intended. For a greater VFM would love to see a lightning version to skip the 30-pin-to-lightning converter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fantastic the product is easy to install and works very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DOES THE JOB Bought the Wahoo key to be used on my iPad 3rd generation with VirtualTraining application. No problem at all, the applicaton recognizes my home trainer, cardio and cadence sensor on first connection. Nothing special to do. A true plug & play! Not 5 stars because I feel it overpriced!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ricevitore wahoo key for ipad it works very good with my ipad and virtualtraining and cycleops powerbeam pro. but it is needed to buy the apple adapter....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DId the trick I bought the kickr and my IPAD is a second generation so I called you guys and your recommendation was spot on, put the key in and the kickr and my app worked great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Product works great with my iPhone and iPad. Only enhancement I'd suggest is to make it compatible with the more recent plug instead of having to get the adapter. Would also be good to have the ability to charge it while it's being used as battery life could be a concern for longer training sessions (I.e., more than 5 hours on the bike).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, when it decides to work We need a lightning version of this! The key + Apple 30-pin adapter is a clunky setup and does not always work. You often have to unplug the key and plug it back in to get it to start working. Once it is working and connected it seems to stay that way, but this does not match the usual seamless, smooth function of Wahoo products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Old tech Wish this was made in a lightning end because as it is now you have to buy another $30 adapter to use on a newer IPhone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with virtual trainer. Wahoo key sees all bike sensors and the Kickr, but only allows free ride mode on virtual trainer. This is disappointing, since my husband really wanted to ride the routes with video and that was the whole point of the purchase. Giving three stars because we honestly don't know if the problem lies with the wahoo key, or the virtual trainer app. (Using this with 1st generation iPad.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't work. Returned it Bought this for iPad and trainer road . Couldn't get it working
Date published: 2016-04-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works as described. However there should be a lightning version of this by now. Instead I had to go spend even more money on an interface between the old Apple connector and lightning.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This review not supported by this phone Worked perfectly for a while and then stopped. Incredibly frustrating because all the indoor equipment is unable to communicate with one another’s without this device. I love wahoo trainers but this unreliable product needs help.
Date published: 2018-02-12
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wahoo needs to make a key for Lightning Using this key with an iPhone 6 requires a 30 pin to lightning adapter and an extension if your phone is in, for example, a quadlock case so you can use it outdoors. It all works but that combination but results in a long tail of devices hanging from the Lightning port that easily jars loose when riding outdoors. It would help if the key was made for Lightning and didn't require an adapter; better would be if the key could mount without the aid of an extension; best of all would be if all the devices you use for bike workouts, including power meter, cadence meter and heart monitor connected using bluetooth so no key at all was required.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way overdue for Lghtning cable compatibility Works fine for ANT+ support. Still, needing to buy an $$$ Apple 30 pin-to-Lightning cable in 2015, when that standard is several years old?! Seems bizarre.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BAD EXPERIENCE Good Morning. My purchase has been a bad experience, after making a mistake in the purchase of the product I have returned it for days and still have not made the payment. I will never buy anything from this brand again and I will always make bad publicity. Greetings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont work The key has stopped working since the last update of the ios 11.2.1. As soon as it is connected a pop up comes out with this message: NOT SUPPORTED BY IPAD. Try to clarify this flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Di work; now it doesn't Now I'm stuck. I connected one Quarq ANT+ power meter to Wahoo Fitness for controlling the Kickr. Now I can't add any more. The Key is suddenly 'not supported' by my iPad, my wife's iPad or my iPhone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work together with iPad pro newer generat As soon the dongle and adapter are connected to the iPad pro a pop-up shows that this device is not supported.
Date published: 2017-12-27
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not supported by iPad I bought this product after extensive research on the internet. All reviewers stipulated requiring an original Apple 30 pin adapter for this product to work with iOS devices equipped with lightening connectors . Accordingly I spent in excess of £80 on these two items just to connect my iPad to BKool. Both my iPhone 7 and iPad report ‘this accessory is not supported by this iPhone / ipad’ . Having tested the adapter without the Key attached, the adapter itself functions corrrectly. In my view this device is not fit for purpose and I will be returning it for refund.
